Students begin their English Langauge preparation for entry into University within a team of highly qualified language instructors.

Sports Coaching Diploma  - Sports Administration – Taekwondo
Victoria University has designed this dual course for those who wish to become a Taekwondo coach, official and/or administrator at an international level:

  1. Diploma of Sport (Coaching) SRS40206 -  two years full-time study
  2. Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management HBSP - two years full-time study.

The course consists of 4 years of full time study

You do the Diploma of Sport (Coaching) SRS50206 commencing in February, during which you would develop your English skills further. On successful completion, you gain 8 units of credit towards the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management HBSP.

The Diploma provides an introduction to the knowledge and skills required of an international coach including development of your performance, coaching and managerial skills.

What does it cover?

  • observing an athlete’s performance to determine the level of instruction required
  • teaching techniques for athletes to acquire additional skills or improve existing skills
  • supervising practice sessions
  • planning, conducting, monitoring and adjusting an individualised long term, high performance training program
  • implementing sports first aid procedures and applying sports first aid.
  • supervising the physical development of athletes
  • aiding in the psychological preparation of athletes to meet the need of high level
  • training and competition
  • providing information about drugs in sport issues
  • applying the principles of eating for peak performance
  • organising and liaising with sports science support staff
  • planning and directing competition strategy
  • analysing the progress of competitions and giving signals/instructions to athletes
  • carrying out post competition analysis and evaluation of strategy and performance
  • undertaking related administrative tasks such as booking venues, organising tours
  • budgeting and arranging entry into competitions
  • implementing a talent identification and development program
  • recruiting players and other support staff.

Am I eligible?
You must have successfully completed year 12 VCE or twelve years of schooling to the level of higher secondary education in your home country.


What else do I need to provide?
You must have attained a 1st Dan Kukkiwon Black Belt qualification.

Applicants must also attach their competition performance history and results.

Applications may also be supported by a reference letters of support accompanied with a personal letter from the applicant pertaining to performance history.
